A personal goodbye

There is no single way
to hold a funeral.

Losing someone is never easy. Whether after a long life well lived, or suddenly and before their time, it can leave you feeling lost and at sea.

As your celebrant, my role is to listen, to understand and to help you piece together the strands of memories, stories and moments that made your loved one who they were. From these, I will create a personal and fitting ceremony that honours their life and gives everyone present a chance to say goodbye.

A funeral is a difficult time, but it can also be a powerful moment. Family and friends come together, support one another and share memories. There can be tears, of course, but there can also be laughter, music, stories and moments of great warmth.

Your person. Your memories.

A ceremony that
feels right for you.

You may want poems, readings, prayers or music. Perhaps people will want to speak themselves, or perhaps you would prefer me to tell the story of your loved one's life. You might want something traditional and formal, or something much more relaxed and informal.

Whatever feels right for you, I will help you create it.

Every funeral I conduct will be dignified and respectful, but dignity doesn't have to mean formality. If your loved one lived a colourful, unconventional or wonderfully eccentric life, the ceremony could reflect that. If they were quiet and private, it can be gentle and intimate. The important thing is that the ceremony feels authentic to the person you are remembering.
